THE PERFECT LEATHER

Good break is not effected just by the expertise in timing, tanning, retaining, and mechanical operations, but also by the nature of raw hides and skins. Variability in nature is next to improbable to be streamlined and so is the nature of raw hides and skins. For various leather commodities in general and shoe uppers in particular, it is however desired that no loose grains wrinkles, creases, microscopic ceases or sugariness should appear when the leather is folded grain inwards.

If the natural break is not good, it'll be made even worse by finishing, especially heavy finishing. At times when break is satisfactory, crust may need be snuffed in order  to make the grain more uniform, decrease boldness and coarsensess or improve  selection. This snuffing will require sealing of the grain maintaining or improving the break before finishing.

Significant improvement in break and resistance to scuffing has been observed by the application of impregnating resins from M/S Components and Equipments Ltd.

These can be used for corrected grains leathers ranging from soft to medium soft, the former yielding a softer handle. Application should preferably be made by curtains or roller coater for uniform impregnation throughout the leather surface
